Frequently Asked Questions ---------------------------- ### Who owns my data? You do. Always. Forever. ### How long does it take to get set up, and is training required? Most teams are live within minutes, not the days or weeks a traditional CMMS rollout takes. Only about 2% of Maintainly customers ever need formal training. Most people start logging work orders the same day they sign up. This is an area that really sets Maintainly apart from older, legacy CMMS. ### Any contracts or commitments? No. If you cancel before the end of your billing period, you'll retain access until it's over. Unlike most enterprise CMMS vendors, there's no annual contract to sign, and some of them will not publish a price at all; we [compare Maintainly against them side by side](/compare). Any usage, including during the trial period, falls under our current [Terms of Service](/tos). ### How does the free trial work? When you sign up, you’ll instantly get access to our top plan for free for 14 days with no obligation and no credit card required. After 14 days you’ll automatically be switched over to the free. You have the option to sign-up to a paid plan at any time during or after the trial period. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time and your data will not be impacted. You can manage plan & add-on settings from *System* > *Billing* in the web app. ### How often will I be charged? After the free period has concluded, if you choose to subscribe to a paid plan via Billing page in your account, we'll charge you that day for your active users for one billing period (month or year), in advance. From then on you'll be charged or credited whenever a user is added or archived, calculated on a monthly pro-rated basis. For invoices generated via a P/O, this works in a slightly different way, with invoices being issued at the end of each month; [contact us](mailto:support@maintainly.com) for details if this billing method applies to you. ### What if I'm a not-for-profit or community organisation? The *Maintainly Social Impact Program* covers both not-for-profit as well as for-profit organisations that have a significant community impact that aligns with Maintainly's core values. Maintainly is a modular CMMS platform so you can upgrade, downgrade, add or remove both the core plan and any of the add-ons, without impacting your data.
